Core 3: DNA Patent Database
The DNA Patent Database, (DPD), serves as a resource for the other projects and cores of the Center for Public Genomics as well as for members of the public interested in fields like genomics, genetics and biotechnology. The DPD identifies a set of DNA-based patents issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and makes the full-text versions of such patents available at no cost to the public. This searchable database allows researchers to track data or trends of granted patents in categories such as the date of issue, the inventor or the receipt of government funding.
The DNA Patent Database is maintained at Georgetown University.
