Adding Patient Samples
This tutorial will guide the user through adding samples that have been collected from a patient during a clinic encounter.
Adding Patient Samples
Samples drawn directly from the patient are added to the appropriate "Patient Encounter". We do this on the "Patient Encounter" report we just added in the "Patient Samples" portion of the "Patient Encounter" To add a blood sample to the encounter do the following:
- Click on the
button to create a new "Patient Sample" report. A window should open indicating a new blood sample has been added. Press "OK" to close the window. - The Encounter screen should now look similar to the following (Figure 20). Figure 20 - Encounter with new patient samples.

The new blood product report can be opened by pressing the
beside the new sample which will open a new window (Figure 21).

Enter the relevant the data into the "Patient Sample" report (data entry screen). Right-click the "Drawn Date" and add current date and time. The data and time can be edited manually to indicate the appropriate date and time of blood draw. "Processing Date" and "Frozen/Banked Date" can be left blank for a new blood sample (not yet processed or frozen/banked). Once the "Blood Sample" report (data entry screen) is completed, press the button to save the information.
