The Duke-IGSP Biorepository provides a range of services for the collection, processing, storage, and distribution of fluid and tissue biospecimens.
- Specimen Banking
The Biorepository provides services for receipt, accessioning, barcode-based chain-of-custody tracking, inventory management, and sample distribution in support of Duke clinical and basic research programs. - Sample Processing
The Biorepository provides services for the processing of biospecimens, including sample aliquoting and DNA extraction. Additional processing and quality analysis capabilities are under development. - Integration with Genomic Research Technologies
The Biorepository enables seamless integration with IGSP molecular profiling technologies, including expression profiling (DNA Microarray Facility) and analysis of genetic variation (Genotyping and DNA Sequencing Facilities). - Biospecimen Resource
Investigators can search the Duke-IGSP Biorepository database of available samples to identify biospecimens of interest for use in their research. A service fee may be collected to cover the costs associated with maintaining the biorepository, and collection, processing, and annotating specimens.
