Consumables
The IGSP Sequencing Facility has a few items on hand that we purchase at small discounts and make available for our regular sequencing customers here at Duke.
To Purchase: Come to Room 119 in the Biological Sciences Building to purchase the following items, and bring a 7-digit fund code (check with your manager to make sure it is current).
Lab staff will help you purchase your items. In the summer, you might want to bring a small cooler for the BigDye if you are walking across campus in the heat.
BigDye: For our Sanger sequencing customers we normally keep a supply of BigDye version 3.1, and its dilution buffer. One tube of BigDye comes with one tube of buffer, and additional tubes of buffer can be purchased separately. If you use 0.5 Ul BigDye per reaction, use 1.5 Ul dilution buffer.
PCR Plates: Our robot's favorite PCR plates are available for sale at cost to our regular customers. They are non-skirted 96-well plates complete with alpha-numeric markings so you will never hand in a plate of upside down reactions again.
