Kevin V. Shianna, PhD is the director of the Duke IGSP Genotyping Facility. He received his PhD from North Carolina State University in 2001. From 2001 to 2004, Dr Shianna was a postdoctoral researcher at Duke and was a recipient of a National Research Council Postdoctoral Fellowship.
In 2005, Dr. Shianna joined the IGSP and established the Duke IGSP Genotyping Facility. Since then the facility has grown into one of the highest throughput academic genotyping facilities and has been involved in several high profile projects. Dr Shianna is an investigator within the Center for HIV-AIDS Vaccine Immunology (CHAVI) where he is a key member of the Host Genetics and Genomics Discovery Team.
